"The Carrie Diaries" is a television series on The CW. It is a prequel to "Sex and the City", showing Carrie Bradshaw in the 1980s, at the age of sixteen. The young Carrie Bradshaw will be played by AnnaSophia Robb. Along with Carrie Bradshaw learning about love, sex, and life, she is also coping with the death of her mother. It premiered on January 14, 2013 as a midseason replacement.
"The Carrie Diaries" is based on the Candace Bushnell book series that also served as a prequel to "Sex and the City (novel)". Los Angeles Times reviewed it as "An addictive, ingenious origin story."
